Ecotherapy Training
The day will cover a range of topics around the practical implications of working outside for both the client and counsellor. In the morning, we will explore insurance, risk assessments and contracting, followed by an afternoon of working outside to practice some of the elements discussed.
The morning session takes place at Step by Step Counselling College. The afternoon will start with a guided walk from the college through Newton Abbot to Bakers Park. The park is co-owned by Teignbridge District Council and the National Trust. The Council-owned land is parkland with facilities for sports and activities such as dog walking, etc. The National Trust-owned land is ancient woodland with a variety of well worn paths, public rights of way and meadows providing space for experiential skills practice and reflection.
With the exception of extreme weather, the afternoon session will take place rain or shine. Please check the weather forecast on the day and bring appropriate footwear and clothing.
